Congers Train Station and Park Restoration
Alberto & Associates led the restoration and conversion of the historic Congers Train Station to a new use as a community meeting center. Surrounding the station is a new public park commemorating the victims of September 11 that includes gardens, parking, a new service road, and a concert green. The 1890 Congers Station has been restored to its original appearance. Extensive research uncovered several original elements currently missing from the building including a bay window and an extended roof on the track side of the building that were reincorporated into the renovation. Redevelopment of the station and its 3.7 acre site is expected to serve as the initial catalyst for the revitalization of the historic downtown of Congers, NY.
